December Updates Are Below

BANGLADESH PROJECTS:

7 FREE CATARACT OPERATIONS: (and free eye glasses)
Cataracts cause blindness. With your help, we paid for their operation, hospital stay, food, and after care and medicines for 3 months by which time the patients should have fully recovered. 7 poor people were helped.

Below: Raising awareness about our free eye camp where cataract patients are selected and other eye ailments treated by medicines. This rickshaw goes around announcing the venue and time of the eye camp.

The following 7 poor persons underwent cataract surgery thanks to your donations.

A few days later:

One of the patients back at home

And some other people were given prescription glasses:

Orphan Feeding Project: We provided cooked lunches for 38 orphans daily. That's no small feat and we thank all those involved.

In Bangladesh, we continued our Human trafficking awareness programme called WildFlower. We educate poor families on how to prevent becoming a victim. Once trafficked, people can end up enslaved into prostitution (click the link to watch a documentary - opens in new window) and become trapped.

FREE HEALTH CLINIC
: Our mobile doctor gives out prescriptions and advice to poor coastal people and we also pay for some common medicines. Those are fishing boats in the background.

In Bangladesh, we continued our free mobile school which takes the school to the poor children.

HUNGER PROJECT In addition to the main projects we do, we randomly give out free food to very poor children and encourage them to attend school and be good kids. It doesn't cost that much, and the kids have something to smile about.

Our free sewing training in Bangladesh continues to help poor women learn a new skill. Some of our previous graduates are now earning just about enough to survive on, thanks to the FREE sewing training they received from us. The training is now for 2 months and then another new batch of 10 women are admitted:

Our HIV awareness programme helps educate many poor familes about AIDS and prevention and disease management. Here, our staff is training people on HIV prevention and management. The same batch of people were trained on anti -trafficking earlier on. Notice the little girl climbing!

PAKISTAN PROJECT
:

Karachi -
Thanks to your donations an following in the footsteps of last month's project, another water wall was installed to supply free drinking water to many poor people. A very deep hole is drilled into the water table under the ground and then a pipe is drilled into that hole and then a hand pump is fitted on top

January's PROJECTs includes: our core projects plus 33 eye operations for the poor, and projects in Karachi. Thank you
