Missing from the picture is another plastic surgeon, Prof. Spauwen, who is also part of the Dutch team who donated their surgery skills for free. We totally support their charitable work and if you can help them with donations so they can carry on this free work, then please visit their website: www.stichtingfaridpur.nl
HISTORY: Last year, the poor Burmese parents of an 11 year old child with a cleft lip, asked us to help them seek treatment. Without treatment, the girl was unahppy about her looks, and her parents were worried that her future could be affected adversely. Due to conditions and customs of her people in her country, when she is grown up and is not married , it would become extremely hard for her to fend for herself - treatment would mean she has a good chance of finding a husband who would help look after her and protect her.

So we sought treatment for her and got quotes from several private clinics, but we were not satisfied that they would do a good job. Then we came accross a team of Dutch plastic surgeons who VERY KINDLY performed the surgery and waived their SURGICAL FEES completely. Our only cost was the expenses involved in transporting her father and herself 300 km away to be near the hospital, accomodation in a good hotel for 10 days (so she could be receive pre-surgery consultation), food, entertainment (she's only a little girl), and post-operative medical costs. We bought her poor father and her new clothes as per local custom and also to keep their spirits up. We also paid for her family's upkeep while her father was with her as he was the sole bread winner. THANK YOU FOR HELPING US WITH THESE COSTS.
PLEASE SUPPORT OUR FUTURE WORK FINANCIALLY
