100 Jumpers for Burmese Rohingya Refugees
Phase 1 (of 3) , Winter Cothing Appeal
13 November 2007
13 Nov 2007: With YOUR generosity, you donated enough money for the winter appeal to provide 700 plus jumpers for this winter. We distributed 100 jumpers to Burmese Refugees (click on this link for further information) stranded in Bangladesh. You can see how poor they are, notice the unclothed children, lining up with their mothers for the jumpers. Notice how tatty the headscarf is on the old woman further below. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP - THIS IS HOW YOU HELPED THESE UNFORTUNATE people. We are working to provide a free school for them, that you helped us with.
On 14 Nov 2007, we fed them (click here for photos) (that was the day before the cyclone)

The Burmese refugees wait their turn.

Above: Old Burmese Refugee Lady with a jumper you gave. Notice how worn her clothes are. These people cannot afford to see a doctor, pay for food or clothes.

Above: Refugee child walks back to her mother witha jumper. It will keep her
warm in winter and might save her life.
